Photographers and Supermodels - Sunday April 27, 2008

Guys this is going to be a fast blog. I have some exciting news!!! Tonight Misty and I had pizza with Father Joe, VANESSA VON ZITZEWITZ, KATSIA, A POLISH SUPERMODEL!!!! I did not realize Katsia was a supermodel until after she left. Thankfully I didn’t pig out on the pizza as she was sitting right beside me. Of course she was incredibly beautiful, but she said something about being a competitive horse jumper, so I just assumed that was her job.
Vanessa just finished a book she has been working on for the last 4 years. She has been coming to Mercy to take pictures and made a book of black and white photography called “Slaughterhouse Angels.” All of the proceeds from the book go to the Mercy Centre. The pictures are incredible and are stories within themselves. She sold 3 of the pictures at an auction, and one sold for $30 000!! The auction was held in Paris and other things auctioned off were 2 tickets for Elton John’s annual ball!

Right now she is taking pictures for her next book which features the horses from the Palace in Dubai! She was also the sole photographer for the royal wedding in Dubai! After she left Father Joe showed us another book she made of her friends that was designed to raise money for the red cross. Faces included Ringo, Pauvratti, and Claudia Schiffer. She is definitely a high roller. So she invited us to join her and Katsia for dinner tomorrow at the Four Seasons Hotel, which she claims has the best Japanese seafood in the world! I imagine she would know. It was quite funny as she asked, do you girls like raw fish? I had to laugh as Misty does not even like cooked fish.

On Tuesday night we are joining them on a boat cruise. They rented a boat for Tuesday and Thursday night to take the children from the AIDS ward on a river cruise. We will join them both of the nights to help with the children. This is pretty exciting.

Now Misty and I are full of questions….what are we going to wear?!?! What should we eat?! Etc…The funny thing was that we had a party for the sea gypsies today and wore our best clothes, so today they met us wearing the best clothes we have here, so now we are out of luck. Thankfully Misty and I have the whole day off tomorrow to prepare.

Our party with the sea gypsies went over well. Even though it was a late start, we had a great time. They all wanted their pictures with us so my face really hurts now. We also spent a few hours visited our new family in the adult AIDS hospice. Today was the most perfect day.

I will write more later as I have too much energy to sit here right now.
